Logistics Capabilities – In Case of Import and Transit from China

The prospects of cooperation with China are growing and strategically important for Georgia's shipping sector. Notably, according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia for 2024, China ranks fourth among the top trading partners (with $1,767,104.8 thousand).
For over 12 years, Kairos Logistics has been cooperating with the country’s largest importers in international shipping, offering customers a full logistics service for imports from China to Georgia. This includes import planning, full and partial cargo transportation, warehousing, brokerage services, and, of course, full process insurance through long-term cooperation with the insurance company “Aldagi”.
First of all, we will share the methods through which any type of cargo is transported—whether it is oversized, temperature-controlled, or general full/partial cargo—along with the competitive advantages of each.
Land Transport from China
The main advantage of land transport from China is the short transit period—an average of 25–30 days. In addition, land transport allows for the carriage of any type of cargo, including full and partial loads, oversized, and temperature-controlled shipments.
Railway Transport from China
For railway shipments, Kairos Logistics offers the transportation of 40-foot containers from China, prioritizing a short transit period ranging around 25–30 days. Recently, this has become one of the most requested directions because shipments are carried out twice as fast. Furthermore, a significant advantage of this method is that cargo arrives directly in Tbilisi.
Maritime Transport
Maritime transport is particularly efficient and in-demand for long-distance cargo transportation. Although sea shipments take longer, they are often more economical, especially for large volumes of cargo. It is also worth noting that amidst the recent activation of railway shipments, a decrease in tariffs for maritime transport has also been observed.
Multimodal Transport – Transit Cargo
Multimodal transport is quite complex, requiring maximum engagement and constant process control. In addition to imports from China to Georgia, Kairos Logistics also handles transit cargo transportation via multimodal routes, offering customers freight carriage either with or without reloading in Poti or Tbilisi (e.g., from China to European and Turkish destinations).
Post-Import Warehousing / Brokerage Services
If you are planning an import but do not own a warehouse, the company offers cargo reception, customs clearance, and storage at Kairos Logistics' A-class customs warehouse near the Tbilisi Customs Terminal (GESH), which has a volume of 6,300 m² and a capacity of 12,000 Euro pallets. The warehouse is equipped with a WMS system, which programmatically ensures optimal control and management of all processes. Unlike standard warehouses, this space allows for the storage of temperature-controlled (+mode) and transit cargoes.
Considering the growing demand, the company is building a second warehouse on an area of 12,000 square meters in the customs terminal territory, which will be completed in February. After the opening of the new warehouse, it will be possible to accommodate 24,000 Euro pallets on the premises. Operating as a leading transport company since 2013, Kairos Logistics relies on years of accumulated experience to provide full logistics services to over 200 corporate clients, owning 2 warehouses in Tbilisi and Poti and having representations in 5 countries.
